“Misal Pav at Aaswad has been awarded the tastiest vegetarian dish in the world”
You can find more here.
Aaswad Restaurant located near Shivaji Park, serves authentic Maharashtrian food. I was there last night to find out what makes the Aaswad’s Misal the tastiest snack in the world. From the first bite of the Misal to the last bite of the Kharvas, let’s dive deep into the world of Aaswad.
Aaswad’s Misal Pav
Don’t get me wrong! The Misal felt quite ok. I couldn’t replace the taste of the misal. Generally when you like something, you update your taste buds with the new and better taste.
If I would have been eating it, not keeping in mind being the tastiest vegetarian snack in the world, I wouldn’t have been so criticizing.
So, Mamledar Misal stays the best misal in Mumbai.

This anywhere doesn’t say the Misal is bad. Order some extra rassa and it is delightful.
Now, Thalipeth is something which must be highlighted and has been highly ignored at Aaswad. When you are at Aaswad, you must definitely order this. Soft and extremely nutritious. This goes very well with the white butter.
I will visit Aaswad again for Thalipeth. It makes you feel like you are eating at a Maharashtrian’s place. Home Made preparation.
Kothimbir Vadi is an excellent dish prepared out of Coriander and Besan (Gram Flour). This must go into “What You Should order” at Aaswad. Soft and incredibly delicious.
Kharvas is nothing but a milk pudding prepared using Colostrum Milk. Kharvas at Aaswad is cool, healthy and not so sweet.
This meal costed me just Rs. 204.
Aaswad, undoubtedly comes under “Best Eating Out Places in Mumbai” category. Those who really like food and are always in quest of finding authentic food, must visit here. You will have to wait for good 20 minutes but the wait is worth for. All at very reasonable price.
